2nd Junior Civil Clerk Vacancy

As a result of team growth, our civil clerking team is expanding.

Pump Court Chambers is a multi-disciplinary set with 129 barristers and 24 members of staff with based in London, Kent, Hampshire, and Wiltshire.

Chambers is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic 2nd Junior clerk to join their Civil clerking team, primarily based in London but there will be an expectation to visit other locations, when necessary.

Applicants should have at least 3-5 years’ clerking experience.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a clerk looking for the next step in their career. The Civil team has seen a sustained period of growth and has recently recruited a new Senior Civil Clerk based in London to aid in their continued development.

The successful candidate will join a thriving, personable and pro-active clerking team who will be fully supported and developed within chambers.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Diary and practice management across all civil areas (incorporating Administrative & Public Law, Civil Fraud, Commercial, Ecclesiastical, Employment, Equestrian Law, Inheritance, Wills & Probate, Insolvency, Inquests & Inquiries, Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence, Professional Negligence, Property Law and Regulatory Law)
  • Fee negotiation
  • Entering papers
  • Lodging court documents
  • Diary billing and case billing
  • Fixing of all types of hearing
  • Court listings
  • Supporting the Senior Clerks and 1st Junior, which includes any business development initiatives
  • Guidance and development of the 3rd Junior Civil clerk and Junior clerk
  • Attending chambers events internally and externally

The remuneration package will be provided upon request which includes a bonus scheme.
