Pump Court Chambers

Administrative & Public Law

Our Administrative & Public Law team has extensive experience within public and local government law as well as related specialist areas of practice. We act for claimants and defendants in a wide range of public law challenges both here in the UK and overseas.

These involve government departments, local authorities, the prison services, the police, NHS trusts and care providers, disciplinary and regulatory bodies, private individuals and commercial organisations. Our Administrative & Public Law barristers have represented clients challenging decisions in the context of children’s services, education, adult social care, employee rights, and provision for the disabled, prisoners’ rights, sports law, healthcare and financial regulation.

The team has experience in all aspects of judicial review, including obtaining emergency orders and other interim relief to prevent breaches of human rights, following up judicial reviews with actions for damages in both the County and High Court and successfully pursuing judicial review matters to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Within the team, we offer representation at all levels, from KC’s to newly qualified barristers. This breadth of talent means that we can always provide clients with the most appropriate expertise at the most competitive rates. In addition, a number of our team have undertaken secondments with central and local government departments to better understand legal challenges from their perspective and further enhance our capacity to support our clients.
