Cordelia is a family practitioner who specialises in financial remedies and private law children matters. She is regularly instructed in complex disputes, often appearing against senior barristers of leading family chambers. She is listed in The Legal 500 2025 as a ‘leading junior’.
She has experience of all stages of proceedings in financial remedies, private children, care and injunctive proceedings. She has successfully acted in both children and finance appeals. She provides written advice in all areas of family law, including those with an international element.
Cordelia has significant experience for her call in matrimonial finance. She is regularly instructed in complex disputes, often appearing against senior barristers of leading family chambers. She has represented high-net worth clients at final hearings in cases with overseas assets, disputed business interests/ pensions, disputed pre/post-nuptial agreements, and third party intervenors.
She regularly acts in related variation applications, set-aside applications and enforcement of orders.
Cases with international assets/ jurisdictional issues have included Hong Kong, Singapore, Iraq, Lebanon, UAE, India, Pakistan and the USA, in addition to European countries.
She also acts in contested divorce matters.
Cordelia is regularly instructed in complex children disputes. She has achieved successful outcomes in difficult long-running cases involving allegations of serious sexual/physical abuse, parental alienation, parties with complicated mental health issues and international relocation.
She represents parents at all stages of Children Act proceedings, including fact-finding hearings and appeals. She accepts instructions to represent the child via a 16.4 Guardian. She also has experience of representing grandparents in private law proceedings.
She has successfully represented parents in ‘implacable hostility’/parental alienation cases, those seeking change of residence, and relocation (including international relocation).
Cordelia has been praised for her sensitive negotiations outside court to assist parents reach agreement where possible.
Cordelia has represented parents in 1980 Hague Convention applications in the High Court. She has continued to represent overseas clients in domestic children proceedings after abduction issues have been resolved.
Cordelia has a growing inheritance practice, and is particularly suited to giving advice to former cohabitees or widow/widowers given her expertise in financial remedy work. She has advised on the prospects of success of claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975.
