Cordelia Williams is a specialist family practitioner, with particular interest in financial remedy and private law children matters.

Cordelia has experience of all stages of proceedings in financial remedies, private children, care and injunctive Family Law Act proceedings. She provides written advice in all areas of family law, whether domestic or with an international element.

Legal Services

Cordelia represents clients in financial remedy proceedings from first appointment to final hearing.

She regularly acts in related matters of variation and enforcement of orders.

She has represented clients in cases involving international issues (Hong Kong, Singapore, Iraq, Lebanon, UAE and USA) including arguments as to jurisdiction, freezing injunctions, mirror orders and claims pursuant to the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984.

She also acts in contested divorce matters.

During pupillage, she assisted with the preparation of DB v DLJ [2016] EWHC 324 in the High Court, a leading case concerning financial arbitration.

Cordelia represents parents at all stages of Children Act proceedings, including fact-finding hearings and appeals.

She accepts instructions for complex private child disputes, and representing the child via a 16.4 Guardian.

She has successfully represented parents in ‘implacable hostility’ cases, ‘no contact’ cases’, those seeking change of residence, and relocation (including international relocation).

Cordelia has represented parties to Hague Convention 1980 applications in the High Court.

Cordelia undertakes all forms of care, adoption and other public law proceedings. She represents clients making/defending serious allegations of neglect, abuse, and those with mental health and substance misuse problems.

She has experience of representing clients with learning disabilities and directly representing teenage children.

Cordelia has represented grandparents in both public and private law proceedings.
