Louisa Simpson authorised to take Direct Access clients

News 14th June 2023

Louisa Simpson has qualified and been authorised by the Bar Council to accept instructions directly from members of the public (“Direct Access”).

If you need legal advice or representation in the courts or tribunals, it is possible to directly contact Louisa to work with you under the direct access scheme, enabling you to instruct Louisa as a barrister without first going through a solicitor (which could save you money in legal fees).

Louisa is a specialist civil practitioner, whose practice is centred mostly around employment, regulatory and personal injury cases.

Louisa is regularly instructed to represent both employers and employees in the Employment Tribunal in cases involving discrimination, dismissals and whistleblowing, and to provide advice on merit (the strength of your claim or defence), quantum (the amount of compensation you may be entitled to) and tactics, and to draft grievance and appeal documents, pleadings, schedules of loss and ‘without prejudice’ correspondence, seeking to resolve matters without having to issue proceedings.

Louisa also assists registered professionals (for example, nurses and other healthcare professionals) with issues with their regulators (for example, the NMC).

Louisa has experience in all areas of civil law.

For further information on Louisa’s practice, or to instruct her, please see her full CV here, or contact: Jonathan Cue (Senior Civil Clerk), Dean Cunniff (First Junior Civil and Employment Law Clerk) or Tom Wood (Civil and Regulatory Clerk) on 0207 353 0711 or via email: clerks@pumpcourtchambers.com
