Jennifer Lee; Barrister at Pump Court Chambers Jennifer Lee is a specialist family law practitioner, with a thriving practice in the area of family finance. She has successfully represented high net worth clients in cases involving family businesses, inherited wealth, substantial pensions, nuptial agreements, and trusts. Many of her cases involve foreign assets and cross-jurisdictional issues, such as the validity or otherwise of an overseas marriage or divorce, or competing claims in multiple jurisdictions (including cases pertaining to Asia and Africa). Jennifer has appeared in a number of high-profile reported cases, most notably in Veluppillai v Veluppillai & Ors [2015] EWHC 3095 (Fam). She represents clients in arbitration and private FDRs, and sits as a private FDR “judge”. She continues to be ranked as a “Leading Junior (Tier 1)- Family and Children Law” in The Legal 500, and as a specialist in “family/matrimonial law” in Chambers & Partners (UK Bar). Jolene Hutchison; Partner at IBB Law Jolene Hutchison has more than 15 years’ experience as a family solicitor and is ranked as a leader in her field in Chambers and a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 for the current year. Sehjal Gupta; Private Client Tax Director at Menzies LLP Sehjal Gupta has more than 15 years’ experience in private client tax and over the years has worked in firms of all sizes giving her the opportunity to have clients from varying backgrounds and jurisdictions. Her expertise is in advising clients with international aspects to their tax affairs including reviewing residency and domicile issues. Over the years, Sehjal’s interest has increased in family matters including IHT planning and divorce. She has grown a niche in advising clients on the tax implications on divorce and in turn becoming their trusted advisor on their tax affairs.
Paul Smethurst, Partner Forensic Services at Menzies LLP Paul Smethurst is a highly regarded accounting expert witness and has given evidence in Court, arbitration and other formal hearings. He has been appointed on numerous occasions as a single joint expert in divorce proceedings usually in connection with business / share valuation. He is also experienced as a shadow expert advising a legal team on areas that might be further explored or challenged and advises Menzies’ clients in non-contentious valuation matters
