This webinar will address the impact of the pandemic and consequent lockdown upon contractual obligations. It will look at the doctrine of frustration and address force majeure with a view to how the Courts of England and Wales will deal with the legal backlash that will inevitably take place as the UK and the rest of the world strives towards whatever form of commercial and economic normality may await us. The speaker will consider the doctrine of frustration and the impact of such both at common law and pursuant to the Law Reform (Frustrated Contracts) Act 1943. The speaker will also deal with force majeure provisions and the likely impact of the pandemic on future boilerplate clauses.
