Nazifa is a Barrister in the Civil Team and accepts instructions in the following areas:
Nazifa appears in small claim and fast track trials, as well as interlocutory applications, CCMCs, possession hearings, orders for sale hearings, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, and applications to set-aside statutory demands.
Nazifa also has a busy paper practice that involves the drafting of pleadings, application notices, and Opinions on various issues.
Since 2022, Nazifa has been a member of the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Panel.
Nazifa transferred to the Bar following a career as a solicitor.
Prior to joining Chambers, Nazifa completed 12 months of pupillage at a commercial chancery set of chambers in London. She also trained as a solicitor with a Magic Circle law firm in London, before going on to work as an Associate Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration team of an American law firm in London. As a solicitor, Nazifa obtained rights of audience in all higher court proceedings. She is also an accredited mediator.
Whilst working as a solicitor, Nazifa gained valuable experience in commercial and company law proceedings taking place at various courts, such as the Commercial Court and the Technology and Construction Court. Nazifa has also acted in relation to proceedings in the Supreme Court as part of her pro bono work on R (on the application of Elan-Cane) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2021] UKSC 56.
Nazifa completed her undergraduate studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, following which she was awarded the Dean’s scholarships for her Graduate Diploma in Law and LLM in Professional Practice (incorporating the Legal Practice Course) from BPP University.
Outside of work, Nazifa enjoys travelling and has been a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law since 2021. She also enjoys taking part in initiatives for the London Very Young Arbitration Practitioners’ (London VYAP) group, such as writing on legal updates within the arbitration sphere. Nazifa is happy to undertake work in all areas of commercial and chancery law including contractual disputes, construction disputes, corporate and personal insolvency, breach of director’s duties, company law, partnership, agency, unjust enrichment, tort of conversion, and contentious trust matters.
Nazifa has recently acted in a range of contractual disputes and represented creditors in bankruptcy and winding up petitions. She has further drafted pleadings and Opinions in claims for breach of contract, contractual frustration, and claims brought against incorrect parties.

Nazifa regularly appears in the County Court and has acted in fast track trials, small claims hearings, MOJ Stage 3 hearings, and interlocutory applications.
She has experience in road traffic accident trials (RTAs), including credit hire claims and claims where fraud concerns have been raised involving low velocity impact. Nazifa recently wrote an article on the costs liability a credit hire company could be exposed to, should it be the principal instigator of a claim despite being a non-party to proceedings.
She also has experience in infant settlement approval hearings.
Nazifa further provides advice on merits and quantum in a range of personal injury claims, including claims arising from employers’ liability and occupiers’ liability.
Landlord and Tenant
Nazifa is happy to undertake work in commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters. She has recently acted for landlords and tenants in possession claims under sections 8 and 21 of the Housing Act 1988. Nazifa has also acted for tenants and landlords in housing disrepair claims. She recently successfully defended Southern Housing Group in a housing disrepair claim valued up to £70,000.
Real Property
Nazifa has acted in, and prepared pleadings and Opinions on, disputes involving trespass of land and claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
Nazifa has experience of, and expertise in, commercial and contractual disputes and regulatory work, which means she is well-placed to advise and act in sports issues which frequently interact with these areas of law. She is happy to advise and represent individuals (professional and amateur athletes) and organisations (sports governing bodies and institutions) in sports law matters.
