The incident arose out of an altercation in a car park. The complainant who alleged the defendant had punched her, sustained fractures to her cheekbone and jaw. The defendant denied the allegations. Around the time of the incident, he had seen the complainant jump on a car bonnet and fall off and assumed that was the cause of her injury.
