This prestigious recognition was established by the Africa Arbitration Academy, Association of Young Arbitrators (AYA) and Africa Arbitration to celebrate the achievements of leading arbitration practitioners from Africa and recognise their contributions to the development of arbitration in the continent.
Oba has extensive international arbitration experience both as an arbitrator and counsel. He has been ranked in Chambers Global for several years as a Leading Silk for Dispute Resolution in Nigeria. The 2025 edition states, “He is recognised by sources for his arbitration work, and his experience includes acting for governments in arbitral proceedings.”
Oba was recognised as one of Africa’s top 20 arbitrators and has been ranked in arbitration powerlist since 2022, administered by the Africa Arbitration Academy.
