Ellie Fargin appeared as junior for the Crown in a rare case of Matricide at the Crown Court in Bristol. This case was described as “utterly extraordinary and deeply sad”. The Judge also thanked both sides for the “immaculate presentation of the case”, with the work that had gone into that being described as “breathtaking”.

Ellie Fargin appeared on her own for the sentence and the Defendant received an 8 year sentence for the killing of her mother.

The Prosecution of this case was fair and robust, conducted at a highly professional level by an excellent team of police, and prosecution officials.

The case attracted significant media interest, including the BBC News website.
