Ulrike is a second-six pupil. She accepts instructions in civil, family and criminal law.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Ulrike gained valuable experience at a CFA personal injury and clinical negligence firm where she drafted high-value clinical negligence schedules including claims for catastrophic injuries. Ulrike also worked at a renowned family law firm where she worked on high-value financial remedy cases as well as complex private children disputes including child abduction cases.

Ulrike has undertaken a range of pro bono work. Ulrike volunteered at the Free Representation Unit where she successfully represented all her clients in Social Security appeals. She also volunteered at the National Centre for Domestic Violence where she met with victims of domestic abuse and drafted witness statements on their behalf for non-molestation and occupation order applications.

Legal Services

Ulrike regularly appears in fast track, small claims and stage 3 hearings, acting for Claimants and Defendants in RTA, personal injury and credit hire cases.

Ulrike has regularly appeared in Payment Protection Insurance cases representing Defendants.

Selected Cases

Maumbe v Aviva Insurance Ltd

Fast Track Credit Hire, acting on behalf of the Defendant. Successful on all grounds, claim reduced by 50%.

Ulrike has represented numerous Defendants in motoring cases in the Magistrate Court and in appeals in the Crown Court, including drug driving, driving without insurance, speeding, failing to provide driver information, and totting-up disqualifications. Ulrike also has considerable experience representing Defendants in special reasons trials.

Selected Cases

R v F: Defending

D was charged with being in charge of a motor vehicle while above the specified limit of a controlled drug (not guilty plea) and possession of a class B drug (guilty plea). Successful in persuading the court that there was no likelihood of D driving the vehicle while above the specified limit despite the engine having been on when he was stopped & searched by the police. D was acquitted of count 1. Successful in persuading the court to impose a conditional discharge in relation to the possession charge (count 2) to which D had pleaded guilty

R v W: Defending

“Totting up” speeding case where D was at risk of having his licence revoked for 6 months. Successful in persuading the court that the high threshold of Exceptional Hardship was made out and D could therefore keep his licence.

R v A

Defending. Driving without insurance. New driver at risk of having his licence revoked. Successful in persuading the court to impose a short disqualification in lieu of points so that D could keep his licence.

Ulrike has regularly prosecuted and defended in the Magistrates Court in a number of cases, including obstruction of a railway, common assault, battery, and ABH. Ulrike has also appeared in appeals in the Crown Court.

Ulrike accepts instructions in all areas of Family Law.
