Acting for both defence and prosecution, Lucie has a busy Criminal practice across the Western Circuit.
Lucie’s defence work covers a broad spectrum of matters including serious violence, sexual offences, drug supply and fraud. She is frequently praised for her ability to distill complicated legal matters into a digestible format for clients and Jurys alike.
Recent cases include an attempted S.18 involving a glassing in a night club caught on CCTV, threats with a weapon in a public place, kidnap and historic sexual offences between family members. All of which resulted in acquittals.
Lucie is a Grade 3 prosecutor and a member of the Rasso panel. Lucie has been led in cases of murder, attempted murder, violent disorder and human trafficking. Acting alone, Lucie is frequently instructed in multi-handed cases including matters violence and dishonesty.
Court martial:
Lucie accepts instructions to defend in the CM. Previous instructions include sexual assault and child cruelty. Lucie had been led in a two-handed rape trial which resulted in an acquittal.
Lucie spent 4 months seconded to Wiltshire County Council in the summer of 2022. During this time she worked alongside the council’s legal team and officers.
She advised and acted on matters of an environmental nature, education prosecutions, and anti-social behaviour matters. She was involved in matters from charge through to final determination.
She is frequently instructed by several local authorities on a range of matters. She is also available to provide charging advice.
Lucie also undertakes licensing work. She is often instructed in taxi licensing appeals and is keen to expand her work in other areas of licensing. She also acts for the police in matters such as dangerous dog prosecutions and confiscation.
