Lucie acts for both Prosecution and Defence across the full spectrum of Criminal matters. She regularly appears in matters involving serious violence, drug offences, matters of dishonesty, and sexual offences. Lucie is a CPS Grade 2 Prosecutor.

Lucie has recently been instructed as Prosecution junior in a multihanded violent disorder matter and has previously acted as second Prosecution junior in a human trafficking conspiracy.

She is regularly praised by witnesses and clients alike for the sensitive way she handles cases and prides herself in assisting young and vulnerable clients through the criminal justice system. As a result, she is often instructed to represent such individuals.

She is always willing to make herself available to discuss her cases with lay and professional clients and is complimented on her ability to provide oral and written advice swiftly and the pragmatic approach with which she approaches cases.

Notable cases:

  • R v H: Defence. Acquittal of Sexual Assault on a Police Officer.
  • R v M: Historic sexual assault allegation defence. Elderly client with extensive communication needs.
  • R v J: Defence, attempted robbery. Client acquitted after 28 minutes of jury retirement.
  • R v W: Defence, violent robbery.
  • R v C: Defence. Acquittal of Dwelling burglary and assault (domestic)
  • R v M: Prosecution, harassment involving threats with a knife.
  • R v J: Suspended sentence for third offence of possession of indecent images
  • R v S: Conditional Caution for Youth convicted of dwelling burglary.
  • R v D: Suspended sentence despite extensive record of similar offending and being in breach of a suspended sentence.
  • R v G. Suspended sentence obtained for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
  • R v C: Multiple incident historic sexual abuse, acquittal within 30 minutes.

Legal Services

Lucie spent 4 months seconded to Wiltshire County Council in the summer of 2022. During this time she worked alongside the council’s legal team and officers.

She advised and acted on matters of an environmental nature, education prosecutions, and anti-social behaviour matters. She was involved in matters from charge through to final determination.

She is frequently instructed by several local authorities on a range of matters. She is also available to provide charging advice.

Lucie also undertakes licensing work. She is often instructed in taxi licensing appeals and is keen to expand her work in other areas of licensing. She also acts for the police in matters such as dangerous dog prosecutions and confiscation.
