Justin Gau is a specialist in the area of Ecclesiastical law, appearing regularly in Consistory Courts, Clergy Discipline Tribunals and advising Clergy, PCC’s and others.
He also has particular expertise in Regulatory work, sitting as a legal Assessor for the General Dental Council, General Chiropractic Council and Nursing & Midwifery Council.
He has experience in Employment law he has developed a specialism in advising Medical professionals, the clergy and others on actions for unfair dismissal and discrimination actions.
He is a priest in the Diocese of London, Chancellor of the Diocese of Bristol, Chancellor of the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Lincoln and Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
He is an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
With previous extensive experience in Criminal work he has had particular expertise in dealing with commercial fraud, white collar crime, money laundering and serious sex offences and as a result has experience in the management of high volume cases.
Justin specialises in healthcare regulatory work, sitting as a legal Assessor for the General Dental Council, General Chiropractic Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Justin represents doctors on matters of misconduct and fitness to practise before the GMC and had previously sat as a Legal Assessor at the GMC for 10 years.
Justin has also been instructed on cases involving care homes before the Care Standards Tribunal.
Justin advises healthcare professionals on discrimination actions.
Justin Gau is a specialist fraud practitioner with almost 30 years of experience at the Bar as a leading junior. He has been briefed to prosecute for the CPS, the SFO, the DWP and HMRC. He regularly defended in multi-handed frauds and white collar criminal allegations.
