Jenna practices in all areas of private family law with a particular emphasis on finance work, often involving international elements. She has advised and acted at all levels up to and including the Family Division of the High Court.
Jenna was previously a Partner in the family team of national law firm Irwin Mitchell LLP, where she routinely instructed in complex and high net worth cases. During this period Jenna was involved in a number of high profile matters including Sharland and Gohil before the Supreme Court in 2015 and Re H-N before the Court of Appeal in 2021.
Jenna is qualified to accept instructions on a direct access basis and is well equipped to do so in light of her previous experience.
Jenna is regularly instructed in Financial Relief on divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership, separation following cohabitation and financial provision pursuant to Schedule 1 of the Children Act.
Jenna advises at all stages of proceedings including drafting and advising in respect of pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements. She is often instructed prior to or on the issuing of proceedings to provide strategic advice and usually remains involved throughout. She can also advise and provide urgent representation on the protection of assets where necessary.
Jenna is experienced in dealing with cases involving complex and diverse assets including trusts, complex company and tax structure and offshore assets, as well as cases where the assets are more modest but the issues no less complex or important.
Jenna provides pragmatic and commercially astute advice at all stages.
Jenna acts in all types of private law disputes relating to children and is regularly instructed in complex cases including those with allegations of domestic abuse and/or parental alienation, or where there is intractable hostility. She has a particular interest in relocation cases, both within England and Wales and internationally.
Jenna is regularly instructed in cases involving grandparents and enforcement of orders. She is adept at providing representation in cases involving expert evidence and of representing Rule 16.4 Guardians.
Jenna is experienced in dealing with children cases involving other jurisdictions including countries in Europe, the Middle East, the US and Africa, including where there is an issue in relation to jurisdiction or enforcement.
