Edward is a keen sports and outdoorsman, where he enjoys running, cycling, and playing rugby. He has recently completed the National Three Peaks and Welsh 3000s hiking challenges, as well as trekking Kang Yatse II (6250m) in the Himalayas. Edward has a keen interest in music and has performed in various orchestras and ensembles as a guitarist and Grade 8 classical singer.

Edward is a specialist crime pupil at Pump Court Chambers.

Edward studied law at City, University of London, achieving a first class honours, before obtaining a Master’s of Science from Exeter College, University of Oxford in African Studies (specialising in International Criminal Justice). He subsequently returned to the City Law School to complete an LLM in Bar Vocational Studies, funded by the Amelia Jackson Studentship and Postgraduate Scholarship awarded by Exeter College and City, University of London respectively.

Prior to pupillage, Edward spent three months working at the Capital Habeas Unit in the Federal Public Defenders Office in Dallas, TX. He supported US defence attorneys with post-conviction Federal appeals for clients who had been sentenced to death, and visited death row in Livingston, TX on a number of occasions. In the UK, Edward worked as a paralegal for a boutique criminal defence firm based in Birmingham, which specialises in all aspects of serious and violent crime.

Most recently, Edward spent five months working for the defence team of Rexhep Selimi in the Specialist Prosecutor v Thaci et al case at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers situated in The Hague. Mr Selimi has been charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Edward currently works pro bono for the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union as a legal representative, where he regularly accompanies cleaners at grievance and disciplinary hearings, and in the employment tribunal.
