Christopher Pix is a criminal law specialist who is instructed in a full range of criminal cases. He undertakes both prosecution and defence work.

Recent instructions include the following offences – murder, attempt murder, death whilst in care, death by dangerous / careless driving, serious injury by dangerous / careless driving, serious sexual offences, drug offences, kidnapping, robbery, burglary and theft offences.

He is also led on a regular basis, including in murder trials, attempt murder trials, complex drug trials, as well as high profile firearms trials.

Christopher is frequently instructed to appear before a wide range of tribunals, including juries, judges, Courts Martial, the Court of Appeal, Youth Court and regulatory boards.

Christopher’s practice covers the full range of motoring law offences, from dangerous driving to lower level offences, including advancing special reasons and exceptional hardship arguments. Examples include:

  • R v C & O: Death by dangerous
  • R v Z: Death by dangerous driving
  • R v S: Serious injury by dangerous driving
  • R v F: Serious injury by careless driving
  • R v S: Dangerous driving matter at Winchester Crown Court
  • R v R: Driving whilst disqualified, fail to provide a specimen, no insurance, driving without due care and attention
  • R v N: Speeding at 114 mph in a 50 mph zone

Christopher accepts instructions in military disciplinary proceedings. Having at one stage considered a career as an army chaplain, he has the ability to understand serving personnel.

  • R v S : s18 GBH assault, after mitigation received a very light sentence
  • R v C : Desertion, after mitigation received a Service Community Order, when expecting an immediate custodial sentence
  • R v F: Sexual assault
  • R v D: Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs

Christopher successfully mitigated in a complex health and safety breach. The resulting fine was at the lowest possible level.

Christopher Pix is qualified to accept instructions directly from members of the public and professional clients under the Direct Access (or Public Access) scheme. In particular, in the area of Ecclesiastical Law. Please contact his clerks for further detail.

 

Christopher is regularly instructed in multi-day final hearings before the NMC, and is well placed to represent and advise individual registrants. He also accepts direct access instructions for Ecclesiastical Law tribunals.

Christopher Pix has been instructed by owners of a F1 team. He is aware of the challenges unique to this sport.

He has also represented sportsmen and women in the Magistrates and Crown Courts.

He is an avid watcher of cricket and rugby, and enjoys countryside sports.

Christopher is married with two daughters. He and his family enjoy walking their Springer Spaniels in the beautiful countryside around Salisbury. Christopher loves watching (and occasionally playing) most sports. He enjoys country pursuits, cooking and reading. He was a chorister at York Minster and a music scholar at St Edward’s Oxford.
