Resolution online webinar: “A Bitesize Guide to Capacity in the Context of Financial Remedy Proceedings” with Jennifer Lee, Jennifer Williamson and Dr Chris Danbury on 24 October 2025

Chambers is pleased to announce that Jennifer Lee has been invited to lead an online workshop hosted by Resolution, “A Bitesize Guide to Capacity in the Context of Financial Remedy Proceedings” on Friday 24^th October 2025 (9.30 am – 11.30 am). 

Jennifer will be speaking alongside her expert co-panellists, Jennifer Williamson (Partner at Blake Morgan LLP) and Dr Chris Danbury (Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, University Hospital Southampton).

This “bitesize guide” will cover the essentials for family practitioners in respect of managing capacity issues in family proceedings. Drawing upon decisions made by the Family Court and the Court of Protection, the speakers will explore:

• The legal concepts concerning capacity in the context of financial remedy/ divorce proceedings;
• When capacity issues might arise and procedural aspects.
• The medical aspects of mental capacity;
• The inherent jurisdiction and vulnerable adults;
• Common pitfalls and traps – how to tackle and avoid them.
