In memoriam David Barber

It is with much sadness that Pump Court reports the death of our former Senior Clerk, David Barber, who passed away last weekend

“Big Dave”, as he was affectionately known, was Pump Court’s Senior Clerk for 20 years, although he served as First Junior under Paul Harding for many years before being promoted. David was someone who, once encountered, you quite simply never forget!  He was a well-known and highly respected clerk in the Temple for many years before deciding to move to Hampshire, where he clerked chambers from Winchester. He was an excellent clerk, extremely popular with members of chambers, staff, and clients alike. Fiercely loyal to chambers, hardworking, conscientious with a wicked sense of humour, he could always be relied upon to just get the job done!

Our thoughts are with his wife, Helen, and his children, Sam and Emily, at this very difficult time.
