In support of the recent launch of the ERA Pledge Bar Guidelines, we are delighted to announce that Carol Cheng has been appointed an ERA Pledge Champion.
The Pledge seeks to increase, on an equal opportunity basis, the number of women appointed as arbitrators in order to achieve a fair representation as soon as practically possible, with the ultimate goal of full gender parity. This is seen as the first, but not the only, step to improving diversity of representation and recognising the mutually supportive interrelationship between equity, equality and excellence.
The Guidelines are supported by the Bar Council and aimed at both barristers / arbitrators and practice management members of chambers.
