Richard Tutt prosecutes Far Right protestors

News 13th August 2024

Richard Tutt has been instructed to prosecute a number of Far Right Protestors involved in a violent disorder in Weymouth on 4 August.
Jason Francis and Ian Vetier were involved in an anti-immigration protest in Weymouth which culminated in a violent disorder as police kept the protestors away from counter-protestors from ’Stand up to Racism’, who were also present.

Francis punched a police officer and was imprisoned for two years after pleading guilty at the Crown Court in Bournemouth to violent disorder and assault of an emergency worker. Vetier was imprisoned for 18 months for his role in the violent disorder. Ian Thomas’s case was adjourned.
