Pump Court is pleased to announce that Timothy Akers has been appointed to the CPS RASSO panel. Timothy is a specialist criminal and regulatory lawyer. He is regularly instructed in sensitive and complex cases involving sexual offences, serious violence, the full spectrum of road traffic violations (including death by driving) and military law.
As a former in-house advocate for the Crown Prosecution Service, Tim has a solid background in prosecution work – he is a Grade 3 prosecutor and a robust opponent when appearing on behalf of prosecuting agencies. He is a master of impactful closing speeches, and is well known for his skills in representing vulnerable defendants and handling vulnerable witnesses.
As a former solicitor-advocate, Tim has a wealth of experience in representing clients in the Crown Court, Courts Martial, police stations and military bases.
Tim is ranked as a Leading Junior for Crime in the Legal 500 2024. He sits as a Legal Adviser to the General Optical Council and as Clerk to the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
