MAS v ZK & Ors [2024] EWHC 1939 (Fam) – Naima Asif represents applicant in forced marriage case

Naima Asif, instructed by Carolina Marin Pedreno of Dawson Cornwell, represented the young person/applicant in this case. A risk of forced marriage abroad was identified and the young person needed to be repatriated. Cusworth J clarifies the workings of the existing guidance and the role of various agencies who may become involved to assist with the repatriation. In particular Cusworth J highlights: “…all of the agencies which may become involved do need to be fully aware of their responsibilities and powers, and willing to engage without reluctance once the circumstances requiring intervention have been established.”
