Synopsis
How children view proceedings and their role within them is crucial. Professionals must delicately balance obtaining wishes and feelings, and allowing children to understand decisions that have been made about them, whilst also shielding them from the harmful aspects of proceedings and parental pressure, manipulation and anxieties. As we attempt to improve the transparency of the Family Court, children and how they understand their stake in proceedings should not be overlooked.
