Geoffrey Still

The members and staff of Pump Court Chambers are very sad to announce the death of Geoffrey Still, one of its best known and most popular former members. Geoffrey Still passed away on 15th March 2023 after a short illness. Geoffrey was called by Gray’s Inn in 1966 and had been a member of the Western Circuit since 1968.  He practised in crime from Pump Court Chambers and was a very persuasive, colourful and able advocate. He was a tireless worker for the circuit and was Circuit Junior between 1989 and1992.  Prior to that, he represented the Circuit on the Bar Council and served as a long serving Recorder appointed in 1988. Geoffrey was an unforgettable character who brought wit and joy to the lives of those lucky enough to have known him. Chambers send its deepest sympathy to his wife Jackie and his family. We shall not forget him.
