Bishop Martin Seeley, Diocesan Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, having appointed Justin Gau as Chancellor and Naomi Gyane as Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese acceded to the Very Reverend Joe Hawke’s request to appoint Chancellor Gau to the stall of St Thomas of Canterbury as Honorary Canon of St Edmundsbury Cathedral and the Deputy Chancellor to the stall of Weaving as Lay Canon of St Edmundsbury Cathedral. They will now play a part in the community integration and outreach work of the Cathedral. It is expected that they shall play as full a part of the Cathedral community as possible.

Justin Gau is head of the Ecclesiastical Law Team in chambers and his and Naomi Gyane’s appointments confirm the pre eminence of the Ecclesiastical Law Team in the country.
