Pump Court increases Arbitration team

News 5th August 2021

Pump Court Chambers Family Team are delighted to announce growth in our Arbitration offering with Imogen Robins and Oliver Peirson having successfully qualified as IFLA Financial Arbitrators, alongside Caroline Hartley who has qualified as a IFLA Children’s Arbitrator. All have been admitted as members of the Institute of Family Law Arbitrators (IFLA) and join our already experienced ADR team.

A bespoke, time efficient and cost effective form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), family law arbitration offers much flexibility; there is no need for the parties to wait for a court to allocate a hearing date or any uncertainty as to the identity of the tribunal or whether the hearing will be effective. Arbitration can therefore be cheaper and faster than traditional court litigation while still enabling the disputing parties to ascertain a final, binding decision. The process can be conducted remotely or in-person and matched to any bespoke needs of the parties.

Arrangements for an arbitration can be made very quickly. For example, if the court has adjourned or vacated a final hearing at short notice, agreeing to arbitration will ensure that all the preparation work and fees already incurred are put to good use.
