Sian Beaven, acting on behalf of the Prosecution, secured a sentence of 31 months’ imprisonment after the Defendant pleaded guilty to Possession of Class A (Cocaine) with intent to supply, Possession of a Prohibited weapon (taser) and Possession of Criminal Property.
Police had attended the Defendant’s home to investigate a separate allegation when they discovered what appeared to be a small hand-held torch. On further inspection, this turned out to be a taser, which prompted a search of the flat during which drugs paraphernalia, cash and phones were seized.
The case had involved a lengthy financial investigation by Wiltshire Police which traced thousands of pounds worth of payment into the Defendant’s account for a drug dealing enterprise which had been ongoing for a year.
Sian Beaven was instructed by the CPS. For further information on the case as reported by the Swindon Advertiser please click here.
