COVID19: Important Notice

News 19th March 2020
Tony Atkins

First and foremost, we hope that you, your families and your businesses are well and coping so far with COVID 19.

In light of the changing circumstances we wish to reassure our friends and colleagues that:

Chambers remains open during our normal hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm. Members of Chambers will generally work from home and we will only have the very minimum number of staff on site. All Barristers and staff working from home will only use secure IT systems. The clerks remain available via email and telephone. Please refer to the clerks page here for up-to-date contact details.

Chambers has the infrastructure and resources to accommodate almost all of our ‘usual’ work electronically and by distance communication. Video and/or telephone conferences can be set up securely and at short notice. Written work can be done as usual – with court hearings likely to be adjourned, we have increased barrister capacity to assist with all kinds of written work. With immediate effect we ask all instructions and documentation to be provided in electronic format in the first instance. Bespoke arrangements can be made if necessary.

We continue to liaise with HM Courts & Tribunals Service in relation to listed hearings across all of our practice areas and will update you of developments as and when required.

Many of our clients are facing a rapidly changing landscape with never-seen-before scenarios, often requiring finely balanced judgment calls. We are on hand at short notice to help with urgent clear and practical advice.

With best wishes for the difficult times ahead.
