Life sentence for brutal murder of neighbour

Kevin Hyden 35, a drug addict from Wellington has been handed a life sentence for the killing of Davinia Loynton an officer manager from Telford.The bloodied body of Miss Loynton, 59, was found rolled up in her living room rug at her flat by distraught friends and colleagues after she failed to show up for work. Hyden tortured his victim to reveal the pin numbers to her bank cards before smashing her skull in and cutting her throat.

Hyden denied murdering Miss Loynton and claimed he had found Miss Loynton’s bag containing her purse and mobile phone in a nearby field. He was found guilty following the 12 day trial at Stafford Crown Court and sentenced to 32 years in prison. His partner who had provided him with a false alibi and was convicted of perverting the course of justice. She will be sentenced later on Friday 17th July.
