Patricia O’Driscoll

Children Private Law

Patricia advises and acts for parents and extended family members in all types of private children cases including contact and residence disputes, prohibited steps and specific issue applications, parental responsibility and leave to remove disputes.  She has experience of difficult cases involving implacably hostile parents and significant domestic violence.

Children Public Law

Acting for both local authorities and parents in care proceedings, Patricia is experienced in dealing with complex cases involving multiple parties.  These can include allegations of very serious harm, including emotional and physical neglect and abuse and sexual harm.

In 2011/12 she spent 7 months on secondment as in-house counsel for a local authority, working in the Children section of the Legal Services Department. During that time she gained valuable insights into the everyday conduct of public law children cases.
