Regulatory and Disciplinary

Charles Gabb has regular experience of defending in regulatory criminal matters. He defends nurses before the Nursing and midwifery Council on charges of misconduct and fitness to practice. He undertakes both liquor & gambling licensing applications and has been instructed on a number of appeals, he also represents taxi drivers who have had their Hackney Carriage Licenses rescinded. He has also represented businesses defending food hygiene prosecutions.

Charles has been instructed on a number of licence appeals. He is regularly instructed to represent taxi drivers who have had their Hackney Carriage Licences rescinded.

He also has experience of advising and representing clients on driving offences to ensure any offences or penalties are minimised.

Recent cases
Charles recently prosecuted the driver of a company Ford Transit van for causing death by dangerous driving. The driver was receiving and sending text messages when he crashed into a cyclist on the A31. The case achieved national importance because the driver had been caught using his mobile telephone on 8 previous occasions; resulting in 6 convictions, and attendance at two driver awareness courses. The last conviction occurred just 6 weeks prior to this offence. He received a sentence of 9 years’ imprisonment and disqualification from driving for 14 ½ years.
